Searches for "whop payments" more than doubled in the US over the past year. Most of those people want three answers: what Whop takes from each sale, when the money lands, and which payment methods buyers can use. Here are the answers, taken from Whop's fee and payout docs as of October 2026. Fees change, so check the linked pages before you set prices.

The base fee

Whop does not charge a monthly fee or a separate platform cut on its public pricing. Each successful card payment costs:

  • 2.7% + $0.30 for a domestic card
  • +1.5% if the card is international
  • +1% if the payment needs currency conversion

Other payment types have their own rates. ACH debit from a US bank account is 1.5% with a $5 cap. Buy now, pay later through Whop's financing partners is 15% per transaction (20% for ClarityPay No Interest).

Optional add-ons that stack

Three features cost extra only when you switch them on:

Add-on What it does Fee
Orchestration Routes payments across several processors 0.8%
Billing Invoices, retries and lifecycle handling 0.5%
Tax and remittance Tax calculation and collection 2% when tax is collected

With all three on and tax collected, a domestic card payment costs 6% + $0.30.

Fraud and dispute fees

These are flat fees per event, not a percentage:

  • 3D Secure check: $0.03 per transaction
  • Radar fraud screening: $0.07 per transaction
  • Dispute (chargeback): $15.00
  • Early dispute alert (RDR): $29.00

Disputes are the one fee that can hurt a small seller. Clear product descriptions and a visible refund policy do more to prevent them than anything else.

Worked examples

A $49 monthly membership paid with a US card, no add-ons:

  • Fee: 2.7% of $49 = $1.32, plus $0.30 = $1.62
  • You keep about $47.38

The same $49 from a UK card that needs currency conversion:

  • 2.7% + 1.5% + 1% = 5.2% of $49 = $2.55, plus $0.30 = $2.85
  • You keep about $46.15

A $297 course bought with a US card, with billing and managed tax enabled and tax collected:

  • 2.7% + 0.5% + 2% = 5.2% of $297 = $15.44, plus $0.30 = $15.74

Discover sales cost the same

Whop used to charge 30% on sales that came through its Discover marketplace. It dropped that fee to 0%, so a buyer who finds you on Discover costs you the same processing fee as a buyer from your own link. Discover sales also get marketplace tax handling where Whop's registrations apply.

When you get paid

From Whop's payout docs:

  • Money from a sale is generally available to withdraw in 1 to 4 business days.
  • Standard payouts take up to 5 business days.
  • Instant payouts take minutes and can include pending funds that have not fully settled.
  • Some withdrawals get a manual compliance review, and the instant option does not appear for those.

Payout methods depend on your country. US examples from the fee page:

Method Fee
Next-day ACH $2.50
Instant bank deposit (RTP) 4% + $2.50
Crypto 5% + $1.00
Venmo (US only) 5% + $2.50
Bank wire $23.00

If you withdraw weekly with next-day ACH, that is about $130 a year in payout fees. Instant payouts at 4% are expensive on larger balances, so use them when you actually need the cash.

Apple Pay, Google Pay and other methods

Whop's hosted checkout already supports Apple Pay and Google Pay. If you embed Whop's checkout on your own site, you verify your domain for Apple Pay first by hosting a small file, and one verified domain covers both wallets.

Whop also has a one-click checkout button that shows Apple Pay in Safari, Google Pay in Chrome and Android, and a Whop Pay button everywhere else. Wallets matter because they remove typing, which is where a lot of mobile buyers give up.

Where fees meet upsells

Because Whop's fee is a percentage plus $0.30 per transaction, the fixed $0.30 matters most on small add-ons. A $9 add-on sold as its own transaction pays $0.54 in fees, or 6%. That is still fine, but it is a reason to bundle small extras as an order bump at checkout, or to make post-purchase offers worth enough that the fixed fee barely registers.
